JRS is proud to sponsor the 2nd International Conference on Geographical Science for Resilient Communities, Ecosystems & Livelihoods Under Global Environmental Change (GORILLA Conference) taking place from December 7-10 at the Protea Hotel in Kampala, Uganda.
The conference goals to contribute to the realization of the Global Development Agenda 2030 aligns with JRS support of aspirational African 30-by-30 goals for conservation using best science and data for decision making.
The 200 participants in the 4-day conference include academics, field researchers, government officials and local media and an international panel of speakers include academics from across Africa, Europe and North America. Presentations will include the following topics:

2) Climate Smart Agriculture for Sustainable Resilience
3) Land Degradation Neutrality and Net Zero

7) Geographies and Contexts of COVID-19 Processes and Sustainable Recovery
8) The Future of Smart Cities and Urban Systems in Sub-Saharan Africa
