The J.R.S. Biodiversity Foundation Announces Executive Director Departure

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am writing today to announce that sadly after seven and a half years as Executive Director, Dr. Don Doering will leave the J.R.S. Biodiversity Foundation at the end of August 2020.

Don departs J.R.S. after successfully launching and implementing our current strategy focused on advancing capacity development for biodiversity informatics and pollinators and freshwater biodiversity informatics in Africa. As Executive Director, Don transformed and modernized the operations and grant-making processes of the foundation. The foundation’s Board of Trustees is immensely grateful for Don’s leadership of the foundation, stewardship of its programs, and building the J.R.S. network of African institutions and people.

The J.R.S. Biodiversity Foundation has begun an international search for an Executive Director, further details of which will be forthcoming. We have plans underway for a smooth transition period to ensure the uninterrupted support of our grantees and their partners.

We will miss Don profoundly. On behalf of the JRS Biodiversity Foundation’s Board of Trustees, we wish him the greatest success in his future endeavors.

Sincerely yours,

Dr. Baldwyn Torto

President and Trustee, The J.R.S. Biodiversity Foundation
