JRS Joins Thought Leaders in Mozambique to Discuss the Future of Agricultural Development in Africa

JRS Executive Director, Matthew Cassetta, was joined by JRS Trustee Dr. Julius Ecuru as attendees at the 2024 Crop Research and Innovation for Agricultural Transformation, Resilience, and Inclusion Conference in Maputo, Mozambique, organized by the African Crop Science Society.  They were welcomed by government officials and the Vice Rector of Eduardo Mondlane University from September 16-19 to discuss sustainable and efficient agricultural production systems; the role of nature-based solutions and market involvement of women and youth in agriculture.

Pre-Conference Materials

Through its 2024-2024 strategy, JRS Biodiversity Foundation seeks to widen its thematic portfolio to include projects that advance the role of biodiversity informatics in the agriculture sector to enhance ecosystem conservation. Mr. Cassetta and Dr. Ecuru engaged panels and discussions focused on agricultural development trends which impact biodiversity in this sector and met thought leaders in the field.
