Name That Elephant: How to Identify Elephants in the Wild

ElephantVoices, a 2012 JRS grantee, takes center stage in the post “Name that Elephant: How to Identify Elephants in the Wild” by Christy Ullrich of National Geographic in A Voice for Elephants on August 16, 2013.   Read about Joyce Poole and Petter Granli’s Elephant Partners, a project that approaches conservation through citizen science and web technology. The database enables non-scientists visiting the reserve to help monitor and protect elephants by adding their observations via mobile app or website.  The JRS Biodiversity Foundation is proud to support the database development and tools and its potential to engage citizens and to enable smarter regional conservation efforts.
